1964 Plymouth Valiant

I came across this 1964 Plymouth Valiant during a walk through a San Diego neighborhood called South Park. I’d seen this car parked at this auto repair shop before, but it had always been parked between other random cars, but this day it was on its own and right under an American flag, which brought the whole image together nicely.

This was taken with a Bronica ETR medium format camera on Kodak Portra 400 film.

1964 Cadillac Deville

I came out of my place and saw this 1964 Cadillac DeVille with front end damage parked across the street, so I ran back inside and grabbed my Canon AE-1P to photograph it. In the background is the Art Union Building which was constructed in 1947 as the Carpenters Union Hall.

A few weeks later as I was leaving my place I saw a man across the street in a yellow suit and flailing his arms while talking to someone in front of the Art Union building. I stopped to see what was going on and thought that this guy would be an interesting subject to photograph, so I went home and grabbed my camera.

After talking to him for about 20 minutes we realized that the DeVille was his car, so I went home to find the print to give to him, and photographed him with it.

This is Arthur and his dog Teddy Bear photographed with a Mamiya C220 on Portra 400 film.

1964 Ford Ranchero

I came across this beautiful 1964 Ford Ranchero parked in a SDFD garage as the sun was setting.

I came back a week later once the film was developed and printed and asked if any of the firefighters there knew who the car belonged to, so that I could pass the print along to them. I was told that it belonged to an individual who had just retired, but would be back, so I left the print there for him.

Photographed with a Mamiya C220 on Portra 400 film.
